CARPENTRY SERVICES

FINDING GREAT ARTISANS IS NOT EASY!

We like to think of carpenters, masons, etc. as the great crafts people that they are. If you can recall our history in the US, indentured servants came under a legal contract to work in the Colonial America.† These were usually laborers or tradesman. Later skilled trades were taught under apprenticeships.

Carpentry is one of these skills, and one of which we donít have ourselves. As we work here, we are acquiring a list of these artisans skilled in various crafts. Their work amazes us as we watch.

Now we will begin the deck construction with one of these artisans and show you some of the details.

This photo reminds me of Al on HOME IMPROVEMENT-I miss that show!!!

Do they all wear plaid shirts? (NO, not our man-itís from MS OFFICE Clip Art)

HEREíS OUR CARPENTER:

BEFORE: We had† no real place to work and the ramp was a nuisance.

AFTER: We have a wider, safer area to work and sit. The front ramp is easy to access and climb.

By comparing the pictures in this manner, you can see the safety improved with the new deck and The Lost Lake!

The sides of the lake are now more level, the liner is a better color, and the water goes nearly to the stones. A nice step is at the bridge and the bridge is higher above the water level.

The random-cut boards of the deck enhance the roughness of the ironstone giving it all the rural effect that a cabin location needs!

Sometimes using a feature over time in the gardens gives better ideas for improvement. Donít be afraid to re-do your gardens!
